StrangerMeet is a free random chat platform for talking to strangers online. There's no sign-up needed and no chat history kept — you open the site, get matched with someone new, and talk.

What you can do

Random 1-on-1 chat matches you instantly with another stranger for text, voice notes, photos, and video — you're always in control of what you share, since media permissions are off by default until both people agree to turn them on. Beyond 1-on-1 chat, StrangerMeet also has random group chat, which matches you into a live conversation with 3 to 10 strangers at once, and chat rooms organized by country and global topics, plus a few simple two-player games you can play with the person you're matched with.

How anonymity works

Random chat needs no account at all, so there's no profile tying those conversations back to a real identity, and messages exist only for the duration of a chat. An account is optional and exists for one reason: friends and direct messages need a way to recognise you again after you close the tab. Even then, other people only ever see the nickname you choose — your email address is never shown to anyone.

Staying in touch, if you want to

Most conversations here are meant to be one-off, and nothing about that has changed. But if a chat goes well, you can send that person a friend request and keep talking afterwards — both of you need a free account, since an anonymous visitor disappears the moment they close the tab. Direct messages between friends are deleted automatically after 24 hours, so even the part of the site built for staying in touch doesn't keep a permanent record.

Why anonymous conversation matters

Talking to someone with no shared history, no mutual friends, and no profile to maintain changes the conversation. There's no audience, no record, and nothing to keep up afterward — just an honest exchange between two people who happened to be online at the same time. Safety & moderation

Messages are automatically screened for banned words, links, phone numbers, and attempts to share social media handles. Every chat has a Report button, and reports feed into a real ban system — repeated reports from different people against the same person can lead to a temporary or, for serious violations, a permanent ban.
